Because we have a thick layer of ice outside with ice and rain still coming down, pictures of my Sewingly Yours 2013 BOM batik quilt finish were taken indoors. It's quilted with a loose free motion meander. The binding is a a colorful leaf print.
Instructions were to piece the blocks on point. If I had bought the finishing kit, the quilt would have been much larger. A BIG quilt. However, I opted to sash the blocks and make a lap quilt.
I used some green and blue batik fabrics from my stash and a row of 8.5" tulips pieced from my batik scraps to make the backing. After a go in the washer and dryer, it finished at 45"x 58".
It feels good to have a UFO from last year finished.
Great finish - love how you did the back.
ReplyDeleteI agree great finish! I know how you like to make the back of the quilt interesting and this one doesn't disappoint. Really nice!
