2015 RSC May Green Week 5

After playing with green scraps this week I'll add a pot holder made with two 8.5" green crumb blocks made last week, two scrappy batik 6" x 10" mug rugs and two 8.5" crumb blocks that I'll turn into a pot holder next week.  I added some colorful crumbs from precious months to make these blocks.
My crumb blocks are made by sewing scrappy crumbs on four 2.5" x 8.5" pieces of paper with a very narrow stitch width. After the strips are trimmed and the paper removed, I sew them together to make the crumb block. I make two blocks for each pot holder.
To see what others made with their green scraps, go here Saturday morning.
I finished piecing the tumblers cut from scraps during the 2013 RSC and they are now a tumbler quilt top. I've also pieced the backing. Hopefully I'll find time to start quilting it next week.

  5. You are paper piecing - just without a pattern. Hurray!
Love your placemats. I'm thinking some crumb piecing would be theraputic. I could use some therapy.
Looking forward to light blues. How about you?
