2015 RSC January Blue Week 2
Our Rainbow Scrap Challenge Host, Angela, is hosting a RSC Column Quilt this year. January's color is blue and here are six blue stars for the first column of the quilt. I'm undecided if I want to make a lap or twin size quilt. Six blocks will be enough for a lap quilt.
I plan to make a doll quilt each month in that month's RSC color. The border, backing, binding and many of the one hundred 2" squares in this one is blue. The border is 3" blue strips. A 36-patch blue block made with 2" squares made it into the picture.
I've been working on a charity baby quilt this week that I'll photograph and post when it's finished.
I LOVE blue so this is going to be a good month. To see what others made with wonderful blues, go here.
The stars look great! Love the idea of a doll quilt with the RSC.
ReplyDeleteYour stars are lovely, and I like your doll quilt a month idea, do you have a lot of little girls in your life? I have three grandsons.
ReplyDeleteThe blue border makes those tiny scraps sparkle. Great work on the sampler blocks 😄
ReplyDeleteSo pretty and interesting stars, and great blues.
ReplyDeleteThose stars are wonderful. And a quilt for each color. Don't give Angela ideas!
ReplyDeleteLove your stars - great choice of colours.
ReplyDeleteYour Twinkle Star blocks turned out beautifully. Looks like you've got a good scrap busting plan in place for this year.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty star blocks. I like the blue doll quilt.
ReplyDeleteThe stars are beautiful and that is a lovely baby quilt. Happy blue month.
ReplyDeleteI love your stars, and I really really love your idea of a doll quilt each month!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea to do a doll quilt every month! We are all smacking our heads out here wondering why we didn’t think of that. I mean, WE wouldn’t settle for just one quilt, so why should our (or our daughters’ or our granddaughters’) dolls settle for just one? I am working my way down in scrap size and should get into the small squares this week. Want my leftovers??? (just kidding - I wouldn’t do that to you.....)
ReplyDeleteLots of lovely blues from you this week! Like everyone else, love your doll quilt idea.
ReplyDeleteWhat pretty star blocks! I like your doll quilt, too. Nice work!

You're doing a great job of chewing through your blue scraps! The stars are really pretty and a fun idea to make the doll quilt each month too.
ReplyDeletean interesting concept for this years RSC - such a shame my little sewing machine is still broken.
ReplyDeleteThose twinkle stars are just adorable but you seem to be really getting into the blue groove with all your blocks.
