Jigsaw Puzzle Quilt Top in Batiks

I've been wanting to make a puzzle quilt for awhile. Earlier this year I found a free Baby Jigsaw Puzzle Quilt Pattern here. Using 35 different batik fabrics,  I make this 30.75"x 42.5" quilt top. The pattern suggests using black fabric for some pieces. Maybe it's an unfinished puzzle. I feel it needs a border to make it a little larger if it is to be a baby quilt. Could be a wall hanging with or without a border.
By the way, there are a several free patterns at this website.

  1. Love your puzzle! Did you make a color map first? I always wonder how the quilters get one color from another block to match up.

Went to the free pattern site, too. She has 148 patterns there to see. Found a bunch I like. Now just to find the time - oh, and the fabric is all packed except for a few projects that I can't seem to get to.
Gotta go, gotta get out of the house, another potential buyer coming this morning. (Keep your fingers crossed.)
    Hugs

  2. That is so neat! I love it. I'll have to keep that in mind to use up some more of the brights in the pile that has not been put away yet.

  8. I love the pattern and fabric choices. I agree though I would put a boarder around it. Thanks for the link also. Lots of lovely quilts, just need to retire so I do more sewing!
