I've been wanting to make a puzzle quilt for awhile. Earlier this year I found a free Baby Jigsaw Puzzle Quilt Pattern
here. Using 35 different batik fabrics, I make this 30.75"x 42.5" quilt top. The pattern suggests using black fabric for some pieces. Maybe it's an unfinished puzzle. I feel it needs a border to make it a little larger if it is to be a baby quilt. Could be a wall hanging with or without a border.
By the way, there are a several free patterns at this website.
Love your puzzle! Did you make a color map first? I always wonder how the quilters get one color from another block to match up.
ReplyDeleteWent to the free pattern site, too. She has 148 patterns there to see. Found a bunch I like. Now just to find the time - oh, and the fabric is all packed except for a few projects that I can't seem to get to.
Gotta go, gotta get out of the house, another potential buyer coming this morning. (Keep your fingers crossed.)
Hugs
That is so neat! I love it. I'll have to keep that in mind to use up some more of the brights in the pile that has not been put away yet.
ReplyDeleteI like your color choices - very pretty quilt!
ReplyDeleteLovely quilt - yes, this one needs a border.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool quilt! I've seen the "plus" sign quilts but not a jigsaw puzzle one....
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the link to the pattern... off to check it out now!
:)
I've made a couple of those for grandnieces and grandnephews. Aren't they fun?
ReplyDeleteA great pattern, and gorgeous fabrics
ReplyDeleteI love the pattern and fabric choices. I agree though I would put a boarder around it. Thanks for the link also. Lots of lovely quilts, just need to retire so I do more sewing!
