A wall hanging of houses in the rainbow challenge colors would look nice in my kitchen. I decided I wanted houses about 7"x7" with a chimney, a door, a couple windows and a flower bed.
When I started cutting and sewing, I forgot that I would need some seam allowance on the sides. Also forgot I would also need some seam allowance in the roof. So the first pink house attempt will be a pot holder. No problem. I love pink. The flower beds may not be large enough for a seam at the bottom, but I can fix change that.
Looking at them in this picture, I think they turned out cute. If I decide not to make my house blocks into a wall hanging, no problem. I'll make them into pot holders for gifts. Pot holders do make nice Christmas gifts :D

Sheila, they make nice gifts anytime, too!
Love the little houses... bummer about the seam allowances. This could just be your design change, couldn't it... Love that you included a flower garden.
Hugs!
Very cool... I love house blocks!!!
Your house blocks are so cheery and wonderful. You are right they will make great potholders.

Very cheerful houses. Love the ladybugs in the green one! My daughter loves lady bugs right now.
The houses are looking Good. The pink ones are mighty bright.
What fun houses! They will be just the right size for lots of things if you don't end with a quilt. Love the little flower beds at the bottom -- so cute.

I love these little houses - especially the opportunity to use fabric to decorate or populate them!
