Quilt As You Go Table Runner With Jelly Roll Strips

I have a new, to me, dark wood dining room table that could use a pretty bright table runner. Using a Missouri Star YouTube video clip tutorial, I made a "quilt as you go" batik table runner. The video link is here.
I started with a pack of Light and Bright Batik 2 1/2" strips from Connecting Threads.
Because I would like to leave this table runner on the table during meals, I decided to make it narrow. I cut 12 3/4" long pieces from each of the 24 strips in the Light and Bright pack. While I had the strips out, I also cut a 2 1/2" square from each strip for my collection of batik squares.
I followed the "quilt as you go" directions in the video. After sewing on the last strip, I trimmed the edges, sewed on the binding and my pretty new table runner was finished. This is my first table runner. It was fast and fun.
I will link this post to Megan's "Let Me See Your Jelly Roll" August Challenge. Her button is on the side of my blog.

Thank you, Freda. I think it would look nice with applique on it. When I learn how to applique, I'll sew some flowers on this table runner :D

I like those quick projects. Quilt as you go is nice too, when you are done piecing all that is left is binding. I'm glad to see you are cutting squares to add to your batik collection.

Oh, have to show this to my SIL, I think she would like to try this. Very nice and like how you are adding to another project along the way.
