2014 RSC August, Pastel Green, Week 3

It's been a busy week. Three nieces are visiting! We made Teeny Tiny Zipper Pouches with some Laura Burch Cat fabrics. Now we're making crochet Spiral Dish Scrubbies. They want to make mug rugs later this week.
I found some time to work with pastel greens and pictured are three 8.5" cat blocks and three 6.5" sampler blocks that I'll add to my collections.
To see what others made with with pastel greens, go here.

Pictured are July and August "Wishes" QAL blocks. They are 14.5" square. Four months/blocks to go.

I've been piecing Bonnie Hunter's free pattern Scrappy Happy House blocks for three years and felt it was time to sew them together into a quilt top with borders. It's a big quilt top. Bonnie likes big quilts. This top is something like 86" x 96". I'll measure after it's quilted, bound and has a go in the washer and dryer. Here it's on the floor sandwiched with some White and Natural batting and a pieced backing ready to be pin based. Will probably do loose free motion meander with a happy loop here and there.

A closeup of the top left corner. Lots of bright colors in this happy, scrappy house quilt top.

A whole week at Auntie Sheila's! How fun! They are going to learn a bunch.

How brave of you to teach zips on something that tiny. Great blocks going and the house quilt has come out so wonderful. I enlarged the photo so I could see all the goodness - super pick on the border fabric.

What a cheerful quilt. It's fun to see two bloggers working on the house blocks and finishing up at the same time. Isn't it nice to pass along the sewing bug to another generation!

Sounds like you are having fun with your nieces. I like big quilts too. Your houses are so cute! I need to try some of those scrubbies and I still haven't tried the zips either.

I just knew when your happy scrappy houses came together that they would be such a fun neighborhood. I was right! Wouldn't it be fun to snuggle under this one and imagine the little people living in each house?
