2016 RSC September Red and Yellow Week 4, Quilting Guild Mystery Quilt Finished

I had fun playing with red and yellow this week. I'll add a boxy square, four Happy Scrappy Houses and a small pot holder to my collections. To see what others made with their scraps go here Saturday morning.

This year our guild's members had an opportunity to participate in a mystery quilt sew along. Happily mine is all finished. It was supposed to look like sunflowers. Somehow I messed up, didn't read the instructions correctly. My sunflowers look like stars. I may donate this lap quilt unless someone in my family really wants it. Guys seems to like red, white and blue. Me, I like scrappy with lots and lots of colors.

Your mystery quilt is beautiful and stars look perfect with the colors you chose! Mine turned out like stars too. The focus fabric we picked didn't really work good as stars, but what's done is done. Rayanna picked out the fabrics and it will be for her and she is pleased with it, so that is all that matters. I have the top done, but I don't have the back made yet. I did buy more of the focus fabric to use for the back, since you can't see the print very much in the stars. I'll bring the top to guild meeting next week! Love all your bright red creations this week!

Great scrap play with your colors. I like your quilt finish - who wants a quilt like 20 others (why I don't like kits). You made it your own and you are happy and it is finished - all pluses in my book.

Great quilt, regardless of what it was “supposed” to look like. It’s simply delightful as is!! Your houses are so cute, too!

Love the boxy star in red and the red houses with all that green grass all around are too cute. I love making a mystery quilt but am not always happy with the finish. I feel if I knew what I was making I would have made different colour choices. Hmm, the joy of it beinga mystery.

Surprise, it's a cornflower quilt. I love seeing those true blues along the roadside, a nice contrast with the whites and yellows. Blue and white is always a winner. The red houses are so cute. When are they going to take over your house?

I love the blue and white quilt, and my husband definitely would! You are right about women liking lots of color and men much less, at least in our house that's true! Your red and yellow scrappy houses are lots of fun!

Lots of fun red houses. The boxy star turned out beautifully. I like your blue sunflowers, yellow is just so typical.
