2014 Rainbow Scrap Challenge July, Red, Week 1

It's difficult to believe the year is half over. Thought I'm happy to say that I've finished many UFOs and previously planned projects the first six months of this year, I had hoped to have finished more. My plans for the next six months will be to see how many more I can work through and finish.
I enjoyed seeing everyone RSC progress. The half year progress post link ups was a great idea. I'm grateful for this challenge for without it my scraps and trimmings would take over my sewing area. I've worked through a lot of scraps this year.
July's scrap challenge color is red. Yah!. After playing with my red scraps this week I'll add six 8.5" blocks and three 6.5" sampler blocks to my collections. A couple cotton knitted dishcloths made it into the picture. To see what other made with their red scraps go here.

I don't know how you keep coming up with so many great scraps to use. Your bright-n-happy colors always make me smile.

So many red blocks! I hope to steal a few minutes this afternoon and sew some red. Peach cobbler is out of the oven so it is pool time.

Love the way you put the red together in the string blocks. That spool block is my favourite.

LOve the blocks you've done so far, especially the scrappy heart. I'm going to pinch that one for my quilt xx

Your Red blocks are looking great. I see you have many lights that have helped you out with getting some contrast.

Ooooh, red!! My favorite. All your blocks looks so pretty. And yeah, that about scraps over-running the sewing area - that's already happening here. LOL

I am making a dish cloth too. It is easier than I thought. I haven't been able to find the right yarn. I am using thinner. What size do yours measure....thanks

Heaps of lovely red blocks going on there Sheila.
I had plans of finishing a few UFOs too, but have a big fail on that. I find it frustrating in that I want to start something new, but have this big guilt thing on my shoulder about those UFOs. Oh well. Perhaps I should retire from being retired so that I'll have more time LOL.
