2015 RSC March Yellow Week 1, Sweet 16 Progress, a WIN, and a Donation Baby Quilt Finish

Our March Rainbow Scrap Challenge is yellow. After playing with yellow scraps I'll add a 12.5" string block, and three 8.5" blocks to my collections. The 8.5" crumb will be used in a hot pad. Need to make another this week so the front and back will be crumb blocks. To see what others made with their yellow scraps go here Saturday morning.
More progress working up Sweet 16 blocks. Eight blocks made it into the picture. That makes 48 blocks that I could sash for a nice sized Hands 2 Help donation quilt. I'll keep making Sweet 16 blocks so I can sew a row of them into the backing.

Here is a close up of the consolation prize I won in Pauline's "Grow Your Blog Party" drawing! It's a calendar. The cover is lovely KF fabrics and beautiful embroidery! She sent a lovely post card, too. I've followed Pauline's blog for years. She sews, quilts, paints. One very talented lady. Thank you, Pauline.

This sweet baby quilt is a simple panel with a yard of pink fabric backing sandwiched with White and Natural Batting. It's quilted with a large loose free motion meander. I found this panel when I was going through my sewing area. I can't remember where or when I got it ... Did you send it to me Sharon? If you did, thank you. It's finally ready to go to a new baby somewhere.

Here is a close up of the backing. The binding is a multi pink stripe print. After a go in the washer and dryer, it finished a soft, sweet 34" x 42". I'll take this baby quilt to my guild's March meeting. We provide donation baby quilts to the hospital and a few other charities. I know a new mother and baby girl will love it.

Great start to 'yellow' and your Sweet16 pile has grown quite nicely. Very sweet panel and it made for a cute baby quilt (I don't remember it).

BTW is your post up on the RSC board today? I didn't see it there. Used your link on her list to get here.
