2014 RSC June, Yellow, Week 1, and Full House Quilt Finish
June's Rainbow Scrap Challenge color is yellow. Though I love yellow, I don't have many yellow scraps. I went through ALL my scraps and pulled anything that had some yellow somewhere in the print. This week I'll add four 8.5" blocks, a 6.5" sampler midget block and a very very scrappy hot pad/pot holder to my collections. A partially knitted dishcloth made it into the picture. The yarn is Sugar'n Cream cotton yarn called LOVE. To see what others made with their yellow scraps this week, go here Saturday morning.
I finished my "Let's Book It" project. I used a Schnibbles pattern called FULL HOUSE and added a second border of 2" squares. Changing thread colors often, I stitched in the ditch around the doors, the roofs, the sides of the houses, the sashings and the borders.
The backing is a colorful batik fish print. I attached a hanging sleeve and it's hanging on the wall in my sewing area. It finished at 34" x 39". At some time I may remove the sleeve, give it a go in the washer and dryer and gift it for a baby quilt. Think I'll go through my books, patterns and magazines for another "Let's Book It" project.
