2013 Rainbow Scrap Challenge, February, Purple, Week 3

This week I pieced four 8.5" purple blocks, a 9" Crossroads block,  and cut some 5" purple tumblers and 2.5" squares to use later. I love this rainbow scrap challenge! Go here Saturday to see what others made with their purple scraps this week. Because people link up all day Saturday and Sunday,  I check Angela's blog throughout the weekend. Don't want to miss anything.
A couple ~6.5" square knitted dishcloths found their way into the picture. Had to show off my newly acquired and limited knitting skills. For these dishcloths I used Sugar n' Creme cotton yarn and No. 7 bamboo knitting needles to cast on 30 stitches. I then knitted rows of garter stitches. I like to knit while I watch tv : )

More great purple blocks. Glad you are enjoying some knitting too. It is always nice to have a fresh dishcloth handy.

As usual, I love your blocks. I really like the cup and saucer. I crochet sometimes when I watch TV. Haven't got the knack for knitting just yet.

Love all your blocks, especially the star and the cup and saucer. It looks very paper pieced, is it?

I need a night time project. The sewing machine is a long ways from the TV... maybe I should knit up some dish cloths, too. Thanks for the idea!

I always like your RSC pictures, so neat and organized looking. Nice set of purple blocks you have and still managing those scraps - bit by bit. I like to knit while watching TV as well, if I don't have a quit to bind.

I need to pull out some knitting - I have that cream/green yarn sitting in the hand work bag with a partial dish cloth. I love the Sugar and cream for them. Bamboo needles are my favorite.

Love the Purples!
Happy thoughts to another new knitter. I just graduated myself to knitting socks...they aren't as hard as you'd think...but they are addictive!

Lovely purple blocks! Good luck on the knitting--my daughter is an incredible knitter, so I leave all those projects to her! I just do the quilting!

Ooh, love all of your purple blocks. You are really getting alot of purple done this month.

Thanks for the info about the washcloth. CO 30 and just knit. That will be a quick and easy wash to do.

Sheila, have you used dishcloth? how does it work? Looking at you, I may make myself one or two, if I can find my needles. :)
