2015 RSC February Week 4, Sweet 16 Progress and a Baby Quilt Finish
The last week of pink fun and I'll add two more 4.5" scrappy pink blocks and soon, a cotton knitted dishcloth. Twelve colorful 'Sweet 16' blocks made it into the picture. To see what others made with their pink scraps, go here.
I finished my new great granddaughter's baby quilt this week. A month early. I used a Me and My Sister Designs charm pack called "Bandana" and some yardage from their fabric collection called "Good Morning". I also used the same Me and My Sister baby quilt pattern I used a few weeks ago.
It's quilted with a loose free motion meander.
And a picture of the backing. After a go in the washer and dryer it finished a soft, sweet 35" x 42".

2015 RSC February Pink Week 3, Sweet 16 Block Progress
After playing with pink crumbs and scraps I'll add two more hot pads to my collection. I used pink, blue and green scraps and crumbs in one of them. Two knitted dishcloths made with four partial yarn balls made it into the picture. Eight 16-patch colorful blocks make the second row.
To see what others made with their pink scraps, go here.
I'm using colorful squares from my 2.5" square collection for my 16-patch blocks. I'm constantly going to my colorful scraps to cut more squares. To learn more about the Sweet 16 Challenge for H2H, use the button on the side of my blog.
I'm working on another baby quilt using a Me and My Sister's charm pack. I'm auditioning border fabrics this weekend. Hope to have it finished and post a picture next week.

2015 RSC February Pink Week 2, Sweet 16 blocks, Let's Book It Quilt
During this second week of the RSC I turned the two 8.5" crumb blocks I made last week into a hot pad. Then I made another pink 8.5" crumb block and three 4.5" pink crumb blocks. Hard to believe, but I found another small collection of scraps to work through a few days ago. It will be good to have all my scraps and stash organized this year.
To see what others made with pink, go here Saturday morning.
Also pictured are four more Sweet Sixteen Blocks. I now have twenty.
Two scrappy pink themed batik 6"x 10" mug rugs made it into the picture as well as a pink cotton knitted dishcloth. The mug rugs and dishcloth were inspired by Wanda at Exuberent Color.
Not wanting to wait until the last minute for my Let's Book It project, I pulled a 2013 pattern book by Me and My Sister Designs called 3 Times The Charm Book 2 and used the pattern on page 6 called INGRID. All the patterns are charm friendly, but I went to my scraps and in no time put together this little boy friendly baby quilt. No pink or purple fabrics in this quilt. Few if any floral prints. Lots of blues, greens, orange, bugs, frogs, fish, vehicles, action heroes, etc. So it should work nicely for a little guy. I will link this post to Sharon Vrooman's blog at the end of the month.
Here is the front. Lots of blue, green and orange.
Here is the back. Fish. Everything came from stash and scraps. It's quilted with a loose free motion meander. After a go in the washer and dryer, it turned out a sweet 36" x 41.5". I like all 21 quilt options in their book. This will be a charity quilt.

2015 RSC February Pink Week 1
February's RSC color is pink. I have a lot of pink scraps. After a week, I'll add a pink skinny string 12.5" block to my collection. Three 8.5" blocks, too. The two blocks made with pink crumbs will be turned into a hot pad this week. To see what others made with their pink scraps, go here Saturday morning.
Four sweet 16 blocks made it into the picture as well as a knitted dishcloth and a crocheted dishcloth.
The four red, white and blue blocks in the picture will be donated at the February's guild meeting. Donated blocks are turned into Hometown Hero quilts. The twelve four patch blocks are the first clue of our guild's mystery quilt. Each block is made with four 4.5" squares. There two light square and two medium light squares in each block.
