2017 RSC January Purple Week 2, Doll Quilt, RSC Baby Quilt
Another Rainbow Scrap Challenge Year! Yah! I LOVE this challenge. Angela at Super Scrappy is hosting another RSC year and she chose PURPLE for the month of January. Thank you, Angela.
Since purple is one of my favorite colors, this month is going to be FUN.
I enjoyed making a 36 patch quilt last year and have decided to make another one this year. A RSC crayon quilt has been on my RSC list for a few years. Pictured is a 36" purple crayon, six 16 patch blocks, six string blocks, a 36 patch block and two pot holders.
I'm making doll quilts again this year. The ones I made in 2016, except for two that went to my great-grand daughter, were all donated. This doll quilt is around 20" square.
I pulled and sashed sixteen blocks made during the 2016 RSC year for an easy donation baby quilt. The orange numbers print border fabric was from stash. I had enough for the back, too. A black on white word print, also from stash, is the binding. It's quilted with a loose free motion meander and finished at about 42" square. I'll take it to our quilt guild's January meeting. To see what others made with their purple scraps, go here Saturday morning.
