2017 RSC October Pink Week 1, Pink Blocks, A 36-Patch RSC Quilt Finish, A Baby Quilt, and Two Doll Quilts

This month I started sewing together some of the colorful blocks I've made this Rainbow Scrap Challenge year. I started with my stack of 36-patch blocks made with 2" squares. The blocks are sashed them 2" Kona white strips and colorful cornerstones. A 1.5" yellow inner border, a 5" outer border and a green and white strip binding pulled everything together. It's quilted with a free motion meander. After a go in the washer and dryer it finished at 63" x 82". It shrank about 4" during the washing and drying process.

I was happy to see that PINK is our RSC color this month. Pictured is a pink crayon block, two 36-patch blocks, three 16-patch blocks and seven string blocks. A pink themed pot holder made it into the picture.
To see what others made with their pink scraps, go here Saturday morning.

The colorful squares in this baby quilt were supposed to be in a fabric book. I didn't want to make a book, but I did want to make a baby quilt.

And this is the back. It finished at 39" square. I donated it during our guild meeting in September.

I love making doll quilt. These will be donated in December.

Wonderful 36 patch quilt! You are so good with your RSC. I think the soft book prints are so much nicer as quilts.

Love that 36 patch quilt. I need to make a baby quilt for an expectant mom in our church. She is not finding out the baby's gender ahead of time, so I am thinking maybe one of these quilts would be perfect. I will have to give it a try - hope mine comes out as pretty as yours!

Your 36 patch quilt is so special. The white sashing and the cornerstones really make each block stand out. Congrats! Your other pinks are coming along so quickly. How do you get so much done. I'm impressed.
