After week 5, I'll add 4 scrappy triangles to my collection. Unfortunately that collection contains only 4 yellow ones. I forgot to make them each month. I'll make more next year. I also knitted some dishcloths.
This week I added labels and hanging sleeves to three of my quilts to hang in next weeks local quilt show. And I donated a dozen dishcloths, four pot holders and a scrappy collection of 2.5" squares for the guild store to sell during the two day quilt show.

2013 Rainbow Scrap Challenge, August, Red, Week 4
After another week of playing with red scraps, I'll add two 8.5" blocks and two guy friendly pot holders to my collections. A knitted dishcloth made it into the picture. Unfortunately I misplaced the label, but I love this yarn.
To see what others made with their red scraps, go here Saturday morning. We have one more week to play with red scraps. I love red and was glad Angela chose a 5 Saturday month for this color.
There is barn number 10 in Lori's Bee In My Bonnet "Quilty Barn Along". Two barns left to piece. My California friend, Terri, sent me some cat fabric to use when piecing the barns. I think barns 10, 11, 12 will be full of barn cats : )

Easy Street Quilt Finished
This UFO is finished. I'm happy : )
It's big and heavy, about 94"x 94". I used Bonnie Hunter's Easy Street quilt pattern.
So much rain and wet weather prevents me from taking it outside for a good picture.
The backing is pieced with large strips of gray, white and black fabrics left from making the quilt top. Not my usual choice of colors, but these fabrics work nicely with this quilt top. Ties it all together.
Using my domestic sewing machine, I quilted it all over with a meandering pattern. I couldn't decide what to do about the binding so I went for my "last resort" binding choice, a white and black print. This quilt will be entered in a local quilt show in September.

Quilty Habit Lantern-a-long
This baby quilt was made using the first four lantern block patterns in a Lantern-a-long created and hosted by Jess at Quilty Habit. I used some Moda jelly roll strips left over from making previous quilts ( Hoopla and Me and My Sisters collections) and some 2.5" strips cut from scraps. The purple background and purple zebra border came from my stash. The background and border looks blue in the picture, but they are really deep purple. I hope to quilt it this weekend. I have strips left for binding. The top finished at 38"x 40.5". It will be a donation baby quilt for one of the charity projects my quilt guild supports.
This was a fun pattern. Thank you Jess.

Sometimes I Knit. Today I Linkup With Clover and Violet
Today I'm linking up with Clover and Violet for "A Season By Hand".
I love to make quilts. However, when I took 4 knitting classes earlier this year, I found out that I love to knit little cotton yarn dishcloths, too. It's an addiction. I have no idea how many I've given away :D
I find knitting to be relaxing. Knitting and quilting. Life is good.
Visit Clover and Violet to see what other crafty people have make this summer.

Quilt Story Lucky Stars Quilt-A-Long Finished Quilt
My Lucky Stars quilt is quilted, bound, washed, dried and finished at 54.5" x 75.5". I like it a lot. It's laying on the back of the sofa so I can look at it often..
There's a closeup showing the quilting. The guide for my first straight diagonal lines was blue painter's tape. Then I used my sewing machine's edge/quilting guide foot accessory to sew the rest of the quilting lines. The machine stitch length was set at 3.1 for larger stitches.
